Due to the fact that my daughter was basically on 2 different doctors' services, there was some miscommunication and a lack of communication in some areas. Rachel took the time to listen to me, understand all the issues and attempted to resolve them all on her own initiative. She was terrific and even had the patient advocate rep come visit us. She definitely improved the quality of care we received single-handedly, and we believe she should be recognized for going above and beyond.

Rachel started on 8C as a clinician. From the beginning, she showed that she had a special way with families and her colleagues. Rachel has the ability to maintain a positive attitude no matter what. She is never too busy or overloaded to help someone. On UBC she always brings donuts, which makes those early morning meetings more special. Recently after the unit suffered a loss, Rachel brought Chick-Fil-A for her friends. Just as she circulates on the unit while on the shift to see where she can help, she checks in with leadership to see how she can help them. She volunteers to do audits and go to classes to make the unit better.
