I commend my nurse Rachel, who took care of me when I came in with a "traumatic head injury" and I was struggling with pain. She went to bat for me. She talked to my doctors about a different pain management plan. I am so happy because this new pain plan worked. I don't hurt so much anymore. One of the things that hurts the most (more than the pain from the accident) is the fact that I have some facial deformities since this tragic accident. Rachel sat by my side. She said I was handsome. Her reassurance about my facial injuries was comforting. I could see the compassion in her face.
