Rachel was not only a wonderful nurse during my son's stay, she also went above and beyond her duties. During the morning round, we were discussing whether my son could have PO. He has a G-tube and he limits his variety of food possibilities to bread made at Outback, I explained that his Grandpa would be bringing some bread from Outback later in the day. Rachel shared with us that she used to work at Outback and it is honey wheat bread. The next morning Rachel was off, however, here for a meeting. She brought in a dozen loaves of bread from Outback donated by her former employer. This touched my heart that Rachel went out of her way to do such a kind gesture for a stranger. When you spend so many days, hours- and over time- years, in hospitals worrying, concerned, etc., acts such as the one Rachel did, just put the biggest smile on my face and means a world of appreciation. Rachel's love, kindness, and compassion is greatly appreciated by my son, me, Grandpa and Granny.
