When I came into the hospital it was wonderful from the very beginning. Rachel came to my room and went over heart failure education with me even though I have had it for a while and know what to do. She took the time to talk to me about what I need and what could help me the most. My only problem was that the foods I eat are boring and I couldn't find anything to try. Rachel took the time to get me her copy of the American Heart Association's low salt cookbook and brought it up to my room so we could look at some of the recipes and find some that I liked. She brought me post-it notes so she could copy the recipes that I wanted. I liked it so much she let me keep it overnight to look at all of it. It had a lot of great information and recipes in it. When she came up to see me the next day I told her how much I love it and she insisted that I keep it so I would have it the day I went home and I would not have to have to go to the trouble of finding it. I offered her money for it but she would not take a penny even though she purchased it! I wanted to make sure that she could share it with other patients and she told me she would just get a new one. God put all nurses on earth to help and she is definitely one of them. It is hard to describe how grateful I am that she cared enough to go above and beyond to help me. When I went home she called to check on me to see how things were going and to see what recipes I have tried. I have never been to a place where all of the people cared so much. Thank you!
