February 2021 Honoree
rachel ronk, RN
I am a nurse at Beaumont Primary Care Physicians in Dearborn Heights. I am pregnant with my first child which is very exciting, but also scary. You would think as a nurse, especially taking OB courses throughout nursing school, I'd feel confident with my new situation. Absolutely not! I feel like everything I learned from OB went right out of the window.
I met Rachel Ronk, RN for the first time during my new OB appointment. My OB/GYN office is not Rachel's office but my nurse was out sick so I was sent to Rachel. What a blessing that turned out to be. From the moment I walked in she was kind. She had a great rapport and I felt like we connected instantly. She made me feel welcome and most importantly comfortable. I had a million and five questions. She was patient. She answered every single one of my questions with the utmost compassion. I have been feeling terrible during my pregnancy with nausea, extreme fatigue, and dizziness. She recommended Unisom and B6 and preggie pops which I ordered from Amazon and they make a world of difference. She made sure to tell me to drink more water, keep a log of my water intake, and rest as much as possible. She went above and beyond. I felt better leaving that appointment. I felt more knowledgeable. I felt cared for. She has a nurturing spirit, and she is an exceptional nurse. I respect all nurses, but something about Rachel was different. I think she should be rewarded for the compassionate, skillful, patient, and respectful nurse she is!
