Dr Schiffman has been an instrumental and influential teacher for me and my colleagues in the on-line doctoral program. She was the faculty for three of our courses. Dr Schiffman was an exceptional role model and continually challenged us to continue to move forward in the program. I was especially appreciative of her leadership this summer for the Integrative Studies course. Dr Schiffman is an awesome educator and researcher and is very deserving of this award. Dr. Schiffman is a member of my dissertation committee. She has also accepted me as a student for research practicum. Knowing my topic of interest for dissertation involves preceptors in nursing she has invited me to become a member of a research project, of which she is a member, that involves this topic. I will work with Dr Schiffman and Children's Hospital of Wisconsin to complete this practicum and learn more about preceptors and how they help nurses new to a pediatric hospital setting transition to the role. Dr Schiffman has involved me in a collaborative relationship with Children?s Hospital, while helping me to complete degree requirements. She has thoughtfully taken into consideration my dissertation topic when helping me plan and complete my course of study.
