September 2023 Honoree
Rachel Stroll, BSN, RN
I had extensive goals of care discussions with the patient and despite his relatively young age, he was "tired" and worsened to the point where a second goals of care conversation ensued, resulting in comfort care measures. Rachel sat at the bedside and held his hand a majority of the time. I marveled at the compassion that Rachel showed in this patient's transition to death. She ensured that this patient did not die alone or scared and gave him a transition that I would want for any of my family members.
Thank you, Rachel, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
