Rachel recognized not only the patient’s discomfort but also the tremendous strain that it put on us as parents.
As first-time parents coming in with a child having possibly seizures, we were scared, emotional, and tremendously unprepared for our Le Bonheur experience. Out of the dozens of specialists, technicians, nurses, and residents walking into our room, Rachel immediately made an impact. She was attentive, thorough, informative, and above all else amazingly compassionate. Our child had been through the wringer, and Rachel recognized not only the patient’s discomfort but also the tremendous strain that it put on us as parents. She stopped in multiple times to make sure we had everything we needed, gave us regular updates on our tentative schedule of procedures, and even put up a sign on the door, so our baby could get some much-needed rest. I could go on and on about how Rachel’s exemplary care made a world of difference, but the most apparent example of that was how much calmer and happier our baby was by the end of Rachel’s shift! Our baby literally went from flailing and crying inconsolably to (finally) cracking the first smile since being admitted. There aren’t enough words to thank you for the wonderful care you provided us, Rachel, but we sincerely appreciate everything you did for us while we were here!! Compassionate, proactive, professional, friendly, reassuring, and communicative.
