The Medical-Surgical Unit was what many nurses would call a "crazy day." There were several hospice patients, total care patients, and concerned family members. This nurse, Rachel Vanecek, was nearly brought to tears several times during her shift from the demands of meeting her patients' needs. Yet, when one of her patients was about to pass in the evening, near the change of shift, Rachel stayed late to ensure that her patient passed peacefully.
