Rachel Walker exhibits healing service to our patients on a daily basis. She attends to the needs of the family and patient as one, as the synergy model of nursing drives her care. She promoted the child's ability daily as evidenced by their communication together.
For several days, we could not get him to eat and he expressed that he would like a happy meal. Rachel arranged for a happy meal to be brought in and he ate the whole thing. They had the epidemy of nurse-driven and patient driven outcomes, which is what we strive for each day with our patient and family centered care. The family trust in her was apparent, as they trusted her judgment and knew her by name. I could hear their interaction every day and she was always talking to him and including him in the decisions of his care. Rachel is a great DAISY Nurse for not only the care for this patient but for all her patients that she gives wonderful care to.
