My boyfriend has suffered for years with COPD and massive hand tremors. Recently he was admitted for another condition known as Ludwig's angina. His nurse Rachel observed his condition and asked him many questions about it. Things like how long he had been this way, what he thinks may have caused it, and why he did not seek further treatment? He does not have any insurance and he has always worked hard but still could not afford personal insurance. Rachel helped by assisting him in filing for SSI and gathering all the necessary information he needed. She talked with him reassuring him that he should not be ashamed for trying to file for his social security because he has worked so hard. This, along with the excellent medical care, is why I think Rachel is a DAISY Nurse. We thank her for the peace of mind she gave to my boyfriend as well as myself. God truly sent us an angel when she was brought into our lives. We cannot thank her enough for being our angel of mercy. We truly appreciate her patience, kindness, and professionalism.
