December 2019 Honoree
rachel wooten, RN, BSN
Rachel had a patient who required a great deal of care. He was on BiPAP and was having issues with the mask, coughing, feeling anxious, etc. Rachel properly intervened to every correct every issue. She maintained calmness for the patient and assured him every step of the way. She explained all the interventions to the patient and made him feel comforted.
Rachel not only demonstrated her knowledge and expertise in nursing but did so with the utmost compassion and empathy. Rachel asked me to stay with her patient while she paged a doctor. Her patient said, "I am so grateful; I know I am in good hands. I feel 10 out of 10 better." I feel very lucky to work with her.
