Rarely do family members take the time to handwrite a four-page letter about a nurse, but Rachelle Davis is an exceptional nurse who makes an impression for many of her patients.
Rachelle, who works in Labor and Delivery, helped deliver their son in May 2014. In the letter, they give detailed examples of how she surpassed their expectations. They mention her exemplary compassion in the words she used and the care and concern she showed to their family. Of utmost importance to them was Rachelle's intuitiveness and clinical skill when there was concern about their baby's heart rate. They note that she remained calm and instilled peace in them that everything would be okay.
"She made us feel like she cared for us like family and the warmth of that thought still sits with us today. She will be remembered in our hearts for years to come," they write.
...
Rachelle also received nominations from her fellow nurses for saving a patient's life. Rachelle noticed a problem and took action before obvious symptoms appeared. A coworker stated in her nomination, "Rachelle led this team through a traumatic event. The patient was in critical condition but in good hands with Rachelle and the OB team. She is an excellent nurse."
