Rae Graves, RN

After a very difficult experience in the ER the night before our visit, Rae went above and beyond to make sure my grandmother received the care she needed today. When an issue arose with the test that had been ordered, she did not hesitate to step in. She escalated the concern appropriately, advocating persistently until it resulted in a meeting with the key leaders involved in my grandmother’s care. Rae along with the PA, treated my grandmother with such compassion and dignity—as though she was their own family. The level of attentiveness and genuine concern they demonstrated made all the difference. Rae embodies the kind of nurse I hope to become one day. Watching her reminded me how critical it is to take initiative and advocate wholeheartedly for your patients. Sometimes their very lives depend on it.
