August 2026 Honoree
Raemell Blount, BSN, RN
I have been working with the lead nurse, Ms. Raemell Blount, at the Augusta RYDC Youth Detention Center for over two years. Since I have known her, she has always displayed a passion for the medical field and for ensuring the youth in the facility receive the care or medical services that they need promptly.
Recently, I'll always remember this day. It was during the weekend, and it was time for the day nurses to go home. An incident occurred where the youth needed immediate attention. Ms. Blount had already clocked out and grabbed all of her belongings. When she saw the officers rushing up, she dropped everything and immediately went into nurse mode without even thinking twice about clocking back in and without telling her that we needed her to assist. Because of her quick response, we were able to resolve all issues pertaining to our youth. I believe Ms. Blount is a true DAISY Nurse for always going above and beyond in the workplace, for always doing what's right, for putting others before herself, and for displaying a caring, reliable spirit/attitude.

Thank you, Raemell, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
