Rafael answered our questions, remained with us throughout our whole scary ordeal, and made us feel comfortable.
Rafael was one of the nurses who took care of my mother when she first came into the hospital. My mother is blind but came in as a self-sufficient, alert, and oriented person. She had surgery to revascularize her legs, and Rafael was her nurse the day before her surgery and again, the day after she had surgery. The day after her surgery, Rafael noticed Mom’s insertion site bleeding under the skin and sprung into action. He applied a sandbag and called the vascular team for prompt follow-up. He was the only person who listened to our concerns and helped us identify that when mom came back from surgery, she was not herself.

Rafael answered our questions, remained with us throughout our whole scary ordeal, and made us feel comfortable. It was with Raphael’s help that we were able to recognize that my mom was confused because she had 4 strokes and she needed to be transferred to the ICU. Without his quick interventions and his willingness to listen to us vocalize our concerns, I am not sure my mom would still be here. My whole family was impressed with Rafael’s nursing abilities and skills which allowed us to feel comfortable knowing our mom was in his care. These characteristics are so hard to come by and we ask you to please, let Rafael know how much he means to our family. He is an angel and we were blessed to have had him on our team while Mom was in the hospital.
