RJ brought him a small, souvenir Texas License plate with the football score on it. He did everything possible to keep our son's spirits up while he was missing the game and his teammates.
We are grateful for the excellent care our son received at St. Joseph. Our son is a Freshman Quarterback on the Appalachian State football team. This was to be his second college football game ever and his first travel game away from North Carolina. When the team arrived on Friday, he was completely fine, by midnight, he was in extreme pain with chills and nausea. Immediately it was recommended to take him to the ER. We checked in, the nurses were thorough and acted quickly. X-rays and blood work revealed that this healthy, 18 yr old college athlete, had strep pneumonia. The doctors and nurses who cared for him In CCU were excellent. They went above and beyond to make a nervous young man and his nervous parents as comfortable as possible. His favorite nurse, RJ, showed him special treatment. He hung up his App State Football t-shirt on the door as we watched App State beat A&M from the hospital room. RJ brought him a small, souvenir Texas License plate with the football score on it. He did everything possible to keep our son's spirits up while he was missing the game and his teammates. Seeing a crucifix over the doorway gave us hope and reminded us of God's hand in everything. I have no doubt that your staff saved our son's life.
Our son will be competing for the starting Quarterback position this Summer. He is so appreciative of everything and wants to send a huge thanks to everyone who cared for him.
