My husband was first admitted to the LRI, and from meeting Rahima for the very first time, she stood out like a beacon of light in the darkness my husband had found himself in. In a very quiet and unassuming way, she dealt with my husband’s medical and mental support needs. 

Nothing was too much trouble for her. After he had his PICC line fitted, Rahima picked up on how much it bothered him and she always made sure she was the one to change the dressing. He had a nasty reaction to his first round of chemotherapy, and she was there to deal with it in a calm manner, taking control whilst also offering reassurance. 

There are so many examples I could give of Rahima being extra special, but I think I would run out of words. We often hear the phrase “going above and beyond “and I really do feel this is apt for her. Nursing really is a vocation for Rahima and not just a job.
