Raleigh Fitch, RN

I met Raleigh on my 3rd night on the unit when I was in a lot of pain. She managed my pain and gave me a washcloth and heating pad. Raleigh checked on me constantly with grace and compassion. I was crying because her warmth, caring, and commitment to patients made me feel better. She made conversation with me and made me feel like I was her only patient.

I work in the health care field and I know how hard nurses work, and to make me feel like I was her only patient, I was impressed. I needed to have another IV and I had to have several nurses try. Raleigh stayed with me, helping them and making sure I was OK. I am grateful that she was my nurse. She was a light of hope in a scary, difficult time. This was my first visit to a hospital and I was scared. Having Raleigh take care of me was the best medicine because it helped speed up my recovery. She is compassionate, caring, and empathetic. I believe she deserves the DAISY Award.
