Ralph treated me with compassion and kindness. He always made sure my needs were taken care of. He, in a snap shot, is what every nurse should aspire to be. ICU is a scary enough place to be in, especially if you don't have someone you have faith and trust in. I will be forever grateful he showed me so much kindness during my stay. Thank you, Ralph!

Ralph is a wonderful, compassionate, very detail oriented nurse and professional who is respected and admired by not only patients but also the doctors. He anticipates the needs and comfort of his patient as he would his own family member. His respect and caring nature is obvious in all aspects. My husband survived a nine hour left frontal craniotomy, cerebral arterial aneurysm and emergency aortobifemoral bypass. Ralph's expert care and experience helped my husband survive. Ralph is a blessing to all. He is a hard worker who truly is very passionate and committed. I had a sense of relief when I knew Ralph was assigned to us. He gave me peace of mind that my husband was being expertly cared for.

When you talk the "Best of the Best", Ralph meets that phrase. Ralph was one of my mother's Neuro ICU nurses. Without a shadow of a doubt, he took care of her as if she was his mother. Ralph was compassionate to all the family members. He was able to communicate effectively with all six of us. Ralph was able to break down big, elaborate terms that that the doctors would use and explain them to us. He believed my mother would get better and that spirit was contagious! Ralph was also great at making each of us feel better. He always had a smile on his face. He always showed my mother dignity when he bathed her, moved her or anything else he did for her. He spoke to her and told her she was awesome. Even when he wasn't my mother's nurse, he would come in and check on mom and us. I believe Ralph made a considerable difference in the recovery of my mom. His energy, positive outlook and attention to detail helped us all in this tough time of our lives. Ralph deserves this award because he made my mom's stay comfortable.
