His demeanor was extremely warm and made us all feel more comfortable during these difficult times.
Rama was an amazing nurse. We had the pleasure of having Rama for three straight days while staying in the PCCU. His passion for superb care was fantastic to see. He truly cared about his patients. Rama approached every day with the most beautiful attitude, smiling and super friendly. Not only was he always attentive to our needs, but he also always took the time to have a friendly chat with us, sharing stories and making us feel like we could talk to him about anything.
He is one of the most amazing members of the medical staff that we have ever encountered. His outlook on life and people is inspiring and positive. He is a huge asset to the U of M hospital. We appreciated every moment he spent with us, consoling us, caring for us, but even more so, being our friend. He had a clear understanding that he was around his patients on some of their worst days. His demeanor was extremely warm and made us all feel more comfortable during these difficult times.
He gave us space when we had difficult news until we wanted to talk, he gave us privacy when he could see we were having serious discussions, but he also gave us a much-needed ear when we wanted someone to listen. He was the most well-rounded nurse with such a great understanding of whole patient care. On one of our worst days during the stay, he advocated for us to safely and effectively take our family to a happier place in the hospital to show our daughter the Big Bird statue, the waterfall, etc. He knew that it was a tough day and that some alone family time was needed for our healing process.
We will be forever thankful for Rama and his beautiful outlook on life. You are appreciated, Rama!
