The Helper
Ramsey is not only a phenomenal nurse, but he is also a one-of-a-kind human being. I haven’t been a nurse for long, but I can tell you that I couldn’t do my job without him. When I started as a nightshift nurse, I was fresh out of orientation and scared of being on my own. I learned quickly that working with the nurses on 5T and Ramsey; I’m really never on my own. The first rapid I ever had to call, Ramsey responded quickly and efficiently. He made sure to explain to me everything that was going on in great detail while remaining calm and keeping myself and the patient calm, as he does every time he is called to our floor. 

The Teacher
Anytime any of us have questions, Ramsey takes the time to not only answer the question but he also breaks it down to make sure we all understand it thoroughly. There is never a question too big or too small for him, and if it is something that he doesn’t know, he makes sure we all learn the answer together. He’s never made any of us feel less than for not knowing something either. He is the BEST teacher and coworker.

Doing What’s Best for the Patient
All of the patients love him and know him by name because of how kind and compassionate he is during some of their hardest times. You would never know the weight he carries on his back because he always makes time for everyone and always has the biggest smile on his face while doing it. We are extremely lucky to have him at Forrest General.
