Every time Ramzy is our baby N's nurse, we sigh an exhale of relief because we know Ramzy will go above and beyond to not only make sure N is safe, but he ensures that we, N's parents are taken care of. I know I will be able to sleep and eat when Ramzy is there. He remembers facts about N and his two-year-old brother and always tries to normalize N's extended hospitalization. He visits N even when he's not his patient and always gives big brother a high five when passing in the hallway. Ramzy makes sure we understand what the doctors are saying during rounds and brings in the frontline to talk to us if we don't. He always asks us if we want him to hold N so that we can eat three meals a day. He heard that we wanted to teach the boys Spanish, so he offered to speak it with us since he learned it in school. While I am confident in Ramzy's nursing ability as a medical professional, it is his compassion and the fact that he goes above and beyond every second he is on duty that make him a great nurse.
