She would rejoice with me in the positives and would worry with me when things were not going as well.
From before my surgery to my diagnosis and readmission for complications from cancer Randa was consistently one of my caregivers. I’m not sure if she chose to be or if that’s just how it worked out, however, she was direct in every way to help me get better. She was consistent with what she said she was going to do and would follow through with it. Randa would spend a large amount of time just making me feel better by being present and she was genuine in her care for me. I don’t think people realize how lonely it gets in the room especially when you’re there day after day and your mind often wanders to places that are not positive and that are not conducive to getting well and getting to my goal of getting home to my family. Randa got it and she worked with that goal for me every day. On the rare occasion that she was working but not my nurse, she would still pop in and see if I needed anything which truly shows her genuine care for people. She would rejoice with me in the positives and would worry with me when things were not going as well. I will always remember her for being a steady positive person in that time of my stay at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital. Thank you Randa for everything you did for me. I’m on the upward road to remission and the positivity you share with me has a lot to do with this I believe!
