Page is the most compassionate, professional, knowledgeable, and continuously supportive member of our staff. She has advocated for hundreds of at-risk patients, mothers, and newborns. Page has faced disagreements with doctors' plans of care, family/cultural traditions, and hospital policies. Premature low birth weight infants need Page on their side, as well as mothers after hemorrhages and traumatic deliveries. She is also our fund-raiser and gift-basket maker for members of staff who are facing challenges including death in the family, job changes, marriages, retirements, and organized multiple opportunities for us to show our support. Page is an upbeat positive and determined nurse who always goes above and beyond on every single shift for all of her patients while facing her own private adversities outside of work. I have witnessed Page insist on higher levels of care so many times that the DAISY Award could not be given to anyone more deserving than Page.
