Randy Daniels recently cared for my mother while she was a patient in the ICU at Southview. My mother was critically ill during this period and Randy displayed a genuine caring and supportive attitude to not only my mother, but also to the rest of my family who were very concerned for her life. Randy understood my family's needs and at the time bent the rules to allow more support (more than 2 visitors at a time) for my father during this period. Randy also explained the care my mother was receiving to my father and brother (both with little medical background) to alleviate their fears and concerns.
When I first met Randy, all my family complimented on how well Randy performed his work. I passed Randy when he was leaving yesterday and he stopped and gave me an update on my mother before I arrived at the ICU. From my experiences watching Randy work and talking with him, I consider Randy a valuable asset to the network and a role model for some of the newer nurses I have met. Thank you Randy, know your excellent work does not go unnoticed or unappreciated.

Randy was extremely gentle and kind to both my mother and the family throughout our time at the ICU. He was always there; doing his job, helping his co-workers, giving a family member a pat or a hug when needed. He was the nurse who handled my mom's removal of the tube and communication with the funeral home, doctors, and family. He did his job beautifully and so professionally, but with great compassion. A very difficult task and he guided us through with velvet gloves. He is a gem. We will be forever grateful for his service.
