From a co-worker

I nominate Rapunchel Dignos for the DAISY Award as she is so totally patient focused. She goes above and beyond in her caring.

Last week one of our patients in the TCU had an open abdominal wound with a fistula spilling out content’s onto the patient’s abdomen. She ingeniously designed a protective type dressing all around the wound site to protect the patient’s skin from breaking down and to keep her ileostomy site clean and dry. The uniquely designed dressing created a bridge and enclosed reservoir to help contain the continual drainage.

Rapunchel’s ability to think quickly and critically for the patient’s behalf makes it such a pleasure to work with her. The very ill patient commented to me “she is such an excellent nurse – isn’t she good?” I totally agree.

It is our pleasure to work alongside Rapunchel in the TCU. Our TCU staff is very proud of her!
