Each night Rashauna led me to feel that this could be a positive, healing time.
I was admitted to Rashaun's floor after midnight. I had spent over 9 hours in a COVID room in the ER before admission to the first floor, so I was tired and not so happy about being admitted. She was so friendly, supportive, and handled all the admission assessment in a calm, pleasant way that enabled one to relax and realize that staying in the hospital for a day or two would not be so bad knowing that she would be my nurse. Each night she led me to feel that this could be a positive, healing time. This proved to be true. She was very thorough in her nightly assessments of me, even when she had to wake me gently from sleep. She never forgot to check my eyes and do the pulses on my feet or listen to my heart and lungs. She kept my heart monitor working properly and gave me the option to use compression on my legs. She also kept me stocked with ice water but followed all the COVID rules by not taking anything from my room. Thank you, Rashauna.
