I am a single woman in my early 30s. In the summer, I went for a basic fertility check to reassure myself I had lots of eggs and time before thinking about children. The news devastated me. I was told I had a low number of antral follicles, an even lower AMH … and, if I wanted kids, I needed to act. So I have spent the last fortnight injecting and went in today for my egg retrieval. I was there alone - without a partner for support. And Rasheed was like a guardian angel to me. He introduced himself with a beautiful smile. He went out of his to make sure I was comfortable. When I returned from theatre and spilt an urn of coffee all over myself and my bed, he mopped everything up with a laugh. When I realised I hadn’t come back with my glasses, he went back to theatre to find them. When I was worried I hadn’t been given the anti infection pill I needed, he went downstairs to theatre again, to speak to a consultant and make sure I had what I needed. He went out of his way at every stage. He told me he had been working at the lister for only 11 months. I’m amazed. He acts like he’s been there a lifetime. I felt truly looked after and supported from start to finish and what could have been lonely and traumatic day turned out just fine! Forever grateful. We need more people like him in this world.

Rasheed has a very warm and welcoming manner. He was so thorough, precisely checking my files and super clear in all of his instructions which built my confidence and made me very calm before and after my procedure. He has a wonderful laugh, and we shared some jokes, too. I knew I was in great hands and it was so admirable to see how dedicated he is to his role and the patients in his care. I felt very lucky to have had him look after me on the day.

I was a patient for the day. I was very anxious and nervous as Hospital is not really an environment nobody wants to be in although my room was very nice and quiet. Rasheed was the allocated nurse for the day. He was very polite and gentle in his approach, very reassuring, and helped in any way he could. He explained everything he was doing or why it was needed. There was no rush in the way he was doing his job and I observed him doing the tasks which were needed, and everything was to done with care and attention.  Very happy to have had Rasheed as a nurse for the day.

We had the pleasure of Rasheed being our nurse and he was absolutely amazing from start to finish super attentive and caring while putting me and especially my partner at ease, he was amazingly prepared and very helpful. He is an absolute asset to the Chelsea lister clinic and hope he is on shift next time we return. Thanks Rasheed.
