Rayealou Mingoy, RN
CivHR Rayealou M Mingoy RN, currently the Assistant Nurse-in-Charge of Clinical Area, Air Force City Hospital, has been a civilian nurse for fourteen years, a visible proof of her unwavering service and sincere dedication to the Philippine Air Force and to the Armed Forces of the Philippines as a whole. Nursing is not a career but a calling for her, which deserves due recognition.
She has devoted her career to caring for every unique individual patient, sick or well, that comes her way. It is her relentless courage to make change to enhance patient experience and her ability to manage the many changes that have come her way in the past years—with dignity, diplomacy and hint of humor. She is always optimistic, has a smile for those who come her way, and always ends her conversations in a positive and thoughtful way.
She was designated as Assistant CHR Nurse In-charge at the clinical areas covering various wards such as Military Ward, Dependents Ward, Officers Ward and Isolation Ward. Her primary duty as Nurse I proved her likewise a commendable employee and a God- fearing individual.
She made sure that the five strategic areas of the AFP Nursing Service –Good Governance, Management Competence, Service Excellence, Quality Improvement, and Training Skills Enhancement are exercised in the unit for fast recovery of the sick with zero morbidity rates.
Aside from her basic nursing duties and responsibilities, CivHR Mingoy RN exercises managerial skills as a Clinical Nurse through adequate ward staffing; initiates and/or recommends staff development programs; implements comprehensive nursing care for patients; and develops motivation programs such as Health Teachings for clients and encourages one-on-one Nurse-Patient Interaction.
Moreover, CivHR Mingoy RN’s training on the Operating Room Immersion Training Program at Jose B Lingad Memorial General Hospital has been an instrument in her support and demonstration of patient and family- centered care through sharing her knowledge and skills in the safe delivery and conduct of urgent care to patients who have traumatic injury, major illnesses, or other issues requiring immediate treatment of military, dependents, and authorized civilians. They catered to a total of 650 emergency cases from CY 2023 to present.
Her routine assignment in the four corners of the hospital as a General Duty Nurse has been attended to efficiently and has provided nursing care services to inpatients. Whenever necessary, she had assumed multitasking as a staff nurse in the Ward and Emergency Room during her 8-hour tour of duty.
Significantly, she had mechanized the major health programs of the Nursing Service at the Emergency Room, like Bantay Presyon as well as BMI Monitoring, for almost 800 clients, and the vaccination of Air Force personnel during their annual physical examination and Health Teachings, which practically benefited the whole Air Force populace inside the AFC complex.
Collaborative patient-centered care was exemplified by CivHR Mingoy, RN, through advocating and empowering patients to promote healthy habits and healthy outcomes. This includes promoting a healthy lifestyle, which plays a crucial role in the health, growth, and development of patients of all ages.
