Advocacy on behalf of our patients and staff are his priorities.
Daily operations of our facility require clinical expertise, administrative knowledge, and strong communication skills. These qualities, combined with commitment to our patients and our staff, are exhibited by this house supervisor. He demonstrates strength in communication, critical thinking, and adaptability. Of the values held by our organization, he exhibits each on a frequent basis; however, integrity is his dominant trait. Advocacy on behalf of our patients and staff are his priorities. He has supported inpatient and ED services on numerous occasions to transfer patients for services unavailable at our facility. When questions or concerns are voiced by staff, he finds answers and communicates to all levels to assure understanding. He is responsive when called for issues and has frequently taken the lead to protect nursing staff from disruptive patients. In addition, he persists in supporting facility goals- for example he made sure we acquired the supplies needed for an IR procedure and validated service availability in his efforts to increase transfers into our inpatient units. I have worked with this nurse for 15 years and have always felt confident that patient needs are addressed and staff supported when he is on duty.
