December 2024 Honoree
Raymond Summar, RN
I am writing to express my deep appreciation for the excellent care provided by Ray Summar. My son was admitted to the floor after being discharged from the step-down unit. He is a new ESRD patient who began dialysis. Of course, my son was very depressed. Mr. Summar was waiting at the bedside when my son arrived on the floor, and he greeted him with a smile. Mr. Summar's courtesy and professionalism offered my son a sense of comfort.
My son, an ordinarily macho man, was embarrassed to be sick. However, there was something about Mr. Sumnar that put my son at ease, and he wasn't embarrassed to ask for help when he needed it. Mr. Sumnar treated the entire family as "the patient" by inquiring about our needs as well. There are no words to adequately express my gratitude and appreciation for the exxcellent care Mr. Sumnar provided my son.

Thank you, Raymond, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
