I would like to nominate Rayshel Hughes for this award because of the excellent care I received on my 1st chemotherapy treatment. I was feeling a little anxious because this was all new to me. Rayshel was great about explaining to me what she was doing. I was receiving my pre-chemo drugs when I had a reaction to one of the anti-nausea medications. Rayshel was right there to stop the infusion. She was very calm and in control. She took the needed steps to make me feel better. She was very methodical and made me feel I was in good hands. Once this issue was resolved we completed the pre chemo infusions. Next were the chemo infusions. All went very smoothly for the 1st drug. When I started the 2nd chemo medication, I again had a reaction. Rayshel was right there to stop the infusion and made the necessary call to my doctor. I always felt she was in command of the situation. My doctor wanted me to try the infusion again and Rayshel explained my options. I decided to try the drug again but had to stop because I still had a reaction. Rayshell continually checked to make sure I was okay and made me feel as though she personally cared about my wellbeing. I received exceptional care because she was caring, compassionate, attentive and remained calm and in control throughout my treatment.
