Rebeca McNamara, RN

I want to share my experience with Rebeca during my recent hospitalization. I was taken by ambulance to NCH after collapsing at the dinner table. I was scared and disoriented. After the ER, I transferred to 5N and was lucky to be in Rebeca’s care. Rebeca has two qualities that are very important when you are suddenly hospitalized and depressed. First, she can explain what was happening in a clear language. People who don’t have much experience with hospitals are often disoriented and worried about what is happening. I needed her to answer questions and if needed make sure the doctor could help to explain. Rebeca is cheerful with a good sense of humor which relaxed and enabled me to recover. It is amazing that even on days she was obviously overworked and so busy seeing patients, she would still find time to come by to ask if I needed anything or had questions. Before saying that you are an Extraordinary Nurse, I want to tell you that you are an extraordinary human being. Thanks for showing me so much love, care, and concern during my visit.
