Rebeca was my son's nurse quite a few times. She always went above and beyond and out of her way to make sure that not only was my son well taken care of and had all his needs met, she also paid very close attention to mom, too. Always offering a helping hand, ready and prepared to help at any given moment. Always took charge and had my son's very best interest at heart! We were really going through it when we had to remove my son's pd catheter and I was lost, confused, and had so much going on and a million questions swirling through my head.
Rebeca was my saving grace! She was always ready to investigate or just be a shoulder or ready to lend a listening ear when all I could do was panic and ask a million questions that she may not even have the answer to. She took all my concerns to the correct doctors and passed very vital knowledge onto other nurses involved in my son's care. She even took the time to write a plan of care up for pd nurses and nurses alike when it came to his pd schedule! She was part of the very heart warming continuity I was praying for, and a strong advocate for me! She even took the time to make a care binder for me and my son that I take and read and use daily, it has been my life saver! When I felt overwhelmed and like I was going to fall apart after such a hard long admit she helped me call for a care conference and was there in attendance to be my voice when I couldn't muster up the words and was overcome with emotion. You see Rebeca isn't just a nurse.... she's a GODSEND and our ANGEL! My son adores her and I appreciate her more than she will ever know! We couldn't have gotten through those four months without her and I feel she deserves to be recognized for her loving, caring and selfless acts of kindness for a family she has touched. We will remember her for a long time to come! Thank you Rebeca for being our guardian angel!
