Becca was recognized by a fellow co-worker for going above and beyond to ensure her patient was taken care of, not only physically, but in mind and spirit as well. Her patient, an adolescent girl, had been staying at SWAN with her mother and brother. Christmas was approaching and the mother tearfully confided to Becca that she had no means to purchase any presents for her children this year due to their circumstances. Becca took it upon herself to raise a collection of money from fellow employees and presented it to the family with a card. Her co-worker was very impressed with the compassion and empathy Becca showed to this family during a very trying time.
