Bex let me vent, calmed me down, and kept me focused on what was important.
My wife was admitted. At the time she was delusional with fear of stroke, brain tumor, or possibly dementia. I had a lot thrown at me that night. My wife did not know me, her name, our children, and spoke in gibberish. She pulled out a total of 4 IVs. Needless to say I was terrified of the situation we were in.

Come Saturday, Bex reports as our attending nurse. She started by doing her daily business but stopped to talk with my wife even though she knew she did not understand, just to make her feel calm. She did the same for me reviewing where we were at, the doctor’s schedule, the next round of planned tests, and what we hoped to find out. My wife and I have no family or friends in the area, we have pets and I needed a shower. Bex coordinated with the MRI staff to plan everything around my wife having someone with her so I could take care of everything else. She was with us like family through every step and kept reminding me that this too shall pass.

My wife was not a good patient given her circumstances and I was scared, frustrated, and I am sure I spoke to your staff harshly and for that please apologize to them all for me. Bex let me vent, calmed me down, and kept me focused on what was important. She is a blessing to Baxter Health, my family, and Mountain Home. I have spent the better part of 25 years in Corporate Management and I would be proud to have her on my team anytime. If allowed my wife and I would like to bring her a Thank you card with $100.00 to say thank you. Please let me know if that is possible. I could go on much longer but I hope you get the idea. Bex made an awful experience bearable.
