My father-in-law spent his last days in Becca's care in the ICU. I am so grateful that the three days of his stay matched Becca's schedule because in those days I saw what an outstanding nurse she is. I first saw it when she donned all the gear necessary due to COVID-19 to go into his room just to help him use his phone so we could talk to him through the window. I also saw it when we started comfort care and although he was very sedated, she talked to him as if he was totally cognizant and with deep respect. I can't tell you how many times she told us it was her pleasure to care for him.
When he passed, we were honored when she asked if she could walk with the family for his code of honor. Our deepest regret was that we couldn't hug our newest sister due to the virus. We were impressed with our whole experience at the hospital but had to let you know that Becca went all out even with all the overload from COVID-19. She deserves recognition for her exceptional compassionate patient care.
