My 85 ½ yo mother was admitted to Frost 1 in December. Becca was her nurse for the first two full days that she was in the hospital. I happened to take the days off of work and was there for the entirety of the two days so that I wouldn’t miss talking to the doctors/specialists that were attempting to diagnose my mother’s medical concerns.

I am nominating Becca, because she was so very kind and attentive to my mother. Becca was conscientious, gentle, and caring in her care. She always talked to my mother as she was providing care and was very upbeat and used humor when conversing with my mom. Becca never acted as if she was too busy (although I am sure she was) or bothered to attend to my mom’s needs or answer pertinent questions.

On the second day, Becca had a student intern shadowing. I felt that the intern was quite fortunate to be shadowing someone like Becca because she epitomizes the qualities of a nurse whom you would want to be caring for your loved one. I am glad that we got to meet Becca and that my mom was the beneficiary of her exceptional care.
