I would like to nominate a truly exceptional nurse who cared for my father during his recent hospital stay. From the very beginning, she demonstrated not only clinical excellence, but also a level of compassion and patience that made a profound difference for both my father and our family.

My father was often confused and, at times, agitated, which can understandably be challenging. Despite this, she consistently treated him with kindness, dignity, and respect. She never rushed him, never showed frustration, and always took the time to speak to him calmly and reassuringly—even in difficult moments. Her ability to meet him where he was, emotionally and cognitively, was remarkable.

What stood out most was Rebecca’s patience. She handled every interaction with a steady, gentle approach that helped ease my father’s anxiety and brought comfort during a very vulnerable time. It was clear that she genuinely cared about him not just as a patient, but as a person.

In addition to her compassion, the quality of care she provided was excellent. She was attentive, responsive, and proactive in ensuring my father’s needs were met. Her presence brought a sense of calm and trust to an otherwise stressful situation.

Rebecca exemplifies everything the DAISY Award represents—compassion, clinical skill, and unwavering dedication to patient-centered care. I am incredibly grateful for the care she provided, and I hope she is recognized for the meaningful impact she has had on our family.
