My labor was not only my first experience, but it was not picture-perfect. Actually, everything I did not want to happen, happened. When Becky came to be my nurse on shift, she provided me with so much comfort, reassurance, advice, peace, and good conversation to get my mind off contractions. She ended up taking someone else's shift and got to have her a little longer, and truth be told, I wanted no other nurse but her. Towards the end of her shift, I was faced with a tough decision that I sought wisdom through her. I trusted her, not only in the way of being in the medical field but in her character. Though it wasn't how I wanted, I'm eternally grateful for the role Becky played in bringing my baby into the world. Her passion shows in her smile; her character displays the value of not someone doing their job but loving their career.
