These are difficult and uncertain, unprecedented times. There are new rules policies and previously unknown risks tied to the work we do. To protect staff and continue to provide excellent care for our patients we need strong leaders that are willing to become heroes. I can't say enough about Ms. Bolivar and how she exceeded my expectations on our last shift together. She made sure that I and the team had the knowledge and equipment we needed to stay safe. She has done research at home to advance her knowledge of the virus and pandemic. She took the hardest COVID-related tasks on herself. She stepped in and helped me perform a critical emergent procedure in the ICU. We'll get through this crisis intact because of practitioners like her.
