I have been working with Becky Bolling for seven years. In 2011, Becky served as my preceptor, welcoming me to the ED with her warm personality. Becky is genuine, caring and a compassionate RN. I value her strong leadership and teamwork.
As a charge nurse, Becky is a strong, intuitive leader, listening to every concern that we have and assisting in patient care whenever needed. Her critical thinking has been integral to the success of the Saddleback ED.
Becky's compassion, patience, creativity and warmth toward patients and staff is truly impressive. Recently I had a very confused, agitated patient who tried to get up. All my measures failed to calm her down. Becky went to the patient's bedside and talked calmly to her while unlocking the gurney. She gently wheeled the gurney with the patient out of the room and took her for a 'ride' in the ED department, with a quick stop by the front door to let the patient take in the warmth of the sun and freshness of the air.
Becky returned with the patient, now smiling and sitting up, with her eyes glowing with joy. I looked at the patient and saw her resting her head back quietly back on the pillows. Becky locked the gurney, turned the TV on and left, off to her next task. It was such a joyful moment and I will never forget that.
Becky Bolling truly is a compassionate, nurturing, and skillful nurse and she deserves the DAISY Award!
