Rebecca has always gone above and beyond for her patients to ensure that all of their needs are addressed and the patient is well cared for.

This particular instance of extraordinary compassion and caring was with a patient who was actively dying in our unit. The patient was on Bipap and very ill and decompensating. The patient's daughter was unable to be with her father during this time in his life, but Becky ensured that she was made aware of everything that was going on with this patient. Being a patient with a DNR order, no heroic measures would be taken.

Rebecca medicated him for comfort then pulled up a chair to his bedside, took his hand in both of hers and sat there with him. She spoke words of comfort to him as she held his hand and the patient took his final breaths. He passed peacefully with his wonderful nurse at his side. The daughter thanked Rebecca for being with him as he passed.

Rebecca always strives to treat everyone like it was one of her family members and has continued to give her patients excellent care.
