Major Castaneda is the definition of what Air Force nursing should be. She continually strives to improve patient care and mentor junior nursing staff. During one of the most difficult times in one of her patient's lives, they recall seeing her in a new light. She dropped everything she was doing on her day off to go into work to nurse and care for this patient and her family. She was compassionate and nothing short of amazing. The patient reports being left "with nothing but respect and awe for her as a nurse. My husband and I will forever be grateful to her!"
