Rebecca's nursing practice is admirable and her commitment to her patients is so very evident in all that she does.
As a nurse, Rebecca always goes above and beyond for her patients. This is especially true when she cares for palliative and end-of-life patients. A few examples of where she has displayed this are:

1) When M's cancer rapidly spread and she was no longer well enough to travel for her Make-A-Wish Disney trip, Rebecca brought Disney to her. The room was decorated with sunshine and palm trees, Mickey mouse balloons danced around the bed, a Moana dress was carefully selected even though it was unlikely to ever be worn, and Disney themed activities were created for the entire family to bring to them together and to bring the magic of Disney world into her hospital room during her last days on earth.

2) Currently on 8A there is major noise disruption due to the construction of 7A. Rebecca was caring for a family whose son was in his last hours of life and they were grieving very hard. The sound of construction was disrupting their time together to grieve and causing him agitation thus preventing a calm, peaceful, and quiet environment for him in his last hours. Rebecca took it upon herself to search out ways to stop the construction. She contacted every manager/educator/security officer that she could find until her voice was heard and construction was paused for his last hours. She did all of this in addition to providing exceptional medical care and psychosocial support for both the patient and his family.

Rebecca goes above and beyond what is required of her as a nurse in order to provide top-tier palliative and family-centered care for all of her patients. She creates a space of comfort and compassion during a family's darkest moments. She goes the extra mile to provide the kind of care that every child and family deserves to have during their hospital stay. Rebecca's nursing practice is admirable and her commitment to her patients is so very evident in all that she does.
