December 2024 Honoree
Rebecca Frost, RN
I see lots of nurses, how they interact, how they try to connect with patients and families. Many people don't see what goes on at night. Becky goes above and beyond by giving great care, helping others, and doing things for those patients who have no one. Tonight, I saw her skip her breaks to give a makeover to a young, non-verbal special needs patient. She took time to trim her facial hair, do a full old-school bed bath, and wash her hair. It was so matted, but she combed it out completely! The patient is now sleeping, visibly way more comfortable than she had been before this head-to-toe care. These are our patients who cannot ask or say thank you. There is no one at the bedside to visit or even notice, but that isn't of importance to Becky. She just wants her people to be seen, to feel better, and to get a sense of being cared for. This is the type of thing that we need to acknowledge because it matters so much!
Thank you, Rebecca, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
