Rebecca Gorman - Becki - is the most phenomenal nurse that I have seen in a long time. My 77-year-old mom was brought into the ED on a Monday during peak flu season when we thought she was having a heart attack. Becki was Mom's nurse and was patient and kind throughout our stay. She went out of her way to help Mom and us the entire day. Mom ended up having pneumonia and being admitted for several days. Since it was peak flu season, the hospital was pretty full. Mom was hungry and asked if she could get something to eat since she hadn't eaten at all that day. Becki said she couldn't get a tray, but she could get herself a turkey sandwich and pudding or applesauce. This was at the end of her shift, and she was getting ready to leave, but still made time to get my mom the food. She answered all of our questions without becoming annoyed, and we felt supported throughout our time in the emergency department. Becki also treated us as individual humans rather than as customers or just patients. You could tell she really cared about Mom and took her symptoms seriously. She is a fantastic nurse, and we are so grateful to have had her take care of Mom!
