My 6-year-old son was seen and evaluated in the ED for a new-onset seizure. This experience could be traumatizing for 6 yr. old who had never been sick and very stressful for the family.
Rebecca demonstrated compassion, integrity, respect, and altruism while she was taking care of him, her great bedside manner and calmness made him more comfortable during the process of starting IV access and obtaining labs.
She was highly professional in her interactions, was also able to handle delicate situations with tact.
She took full ownership of his medical care and made sure that all issues, large and small, had been fully addressed prior to discharge.
As a mother of a patient and as a health care provider I truly believe that Rebecca deserves to be called a role model for many others!
