Rebecca J Matthews, RN

Rebecca does her job with quiet efficiency in situations where others may get ruffled. Her calmness was reflected in how my husband felt about his stay. She is diligent in reviewing the various meds and noticed a few adjustments that needed to be made to my husband’s chart. Pain meds are easy to distribute as needed, and the patient might even be easier to deal with. That said, Rebecca skillfully explained the negatives to my husband and successfully steered him to lower doses and alternatives. Constant encouragement, with her words and actions, made a major difference. She is very skilled in clearly reviewing the status quo with the doctors.

During our time in her unit we noticed that she not only cares for her patients but for fellow nurses and staff. She helps create a cohesive environment which impacts the patient all around. Honestly, it’s not one major occurrence that makes this RN special. It’s her everyday approach to ShorePoint Health and her patients.
